Anita's world has been consumed with animal rescue work for as long as she can remember. She remembers often finding a kittens on the streets of New York when she was very young, nursing them back to health, and then with the help of her father, she would find them homes. Teenage Anita secretly housed and fed a dog in her parent's basement, only for her parent's to find out her secret days later!
Later in life, Anita owned her own animal in rescue in New York, and in 2004 was able to save 500 animals! Her partners are still operating the rescue today.
Anita fell in love with the bluegrass state and moved to Kentucky in 2007. She brought with her giant love for animals and her gift for helping them find forever homes with her.
Anita lives in Lexington with her crew of critters, dogs Isabella, Ben, Maya, Mandy, and Hope; a beautiful parrot, and horse named Lady.
